The legendary Slovenian punk/new wave band is returning to Trieste on April 25, 2025 – almost exactly 40 years after their historic concert on April 20, 1985.
NIET are a cult band in Slovenia that has long since secured an important place in the history of rock music throughout the former Yugoslavia. They started out as rebellious teenagers from Ljubljana who dared to express the plight of youth, the dissatisfaction of a generation, and the alienation of outcasts.
In 1985, they touredaround Europe, performing in cities such as Paris, Zagreb, Sarajevo, Belgrade and several places in Dalmatia. They recorded two more hits at that time – “Vijolice” and “Februar”. They also played in Trieste, where right before the concert they declared: “Il disco è finito – il punk comincia!” (“Disco is finished – punk is taking over!” a statement that became legendary with the release of the album Niet Live in 1995).
Now, on April 25, 2025, they return to Trieste – almost exactly 40 years after the legendary concert on April 20, 1985. An event, a celebration that crosses the border, which no longer separates today.
